Where the word blessed comes from
Blessed is the participle of bless worn smooth into an adjective, and prayer kept its older two-syllable reading alive, bless-ed, long after everyday speech dropped it.
As a single word it is an inventory taken and found full. It stays one of the most displayed words in American homes.
