Where the word lee comes from
Lee is three letters, and only the l reaches above the line, so the word is one tall stroke followed by two round ones. Nothing on either shelf is shorter.
It is the 21st most common surname in the country, shared by close to seven hundred thousand people. A short word suits a mailbox post or a narrow strip of door.
