Where the word theodore comes from
Theodore is the Greek Theodoros, gift of God, the name of dozens of early saints and, through the Russian Fyodor, of Dostoevsky. The elements are the same as Dorothea, turned round.
Roosevelt made it presidential and the teddy bear made it soft. After sixty quiet years it is back in the American top ten.
