About the Ruffled Poppy design
Wavy scallops run along the top edge of this poppy, giving the solid black cup its crumpled, tissue-paper rim. The bloom is far wider than it is tall and narrows to a point where it meets the stem, like a cone heaped with shaved ice. Below, the stem bends gently and puts out two leaves on short stalks, the left one reaching up and outward and the right one standing taller, before the stem ends in a slanted cut at the bottom left.
