About the Swept Tulip design
Three pointed petals flare from a single heavy cup, the outer pair sweeping sideways like the tips of a jester's cap while the middle one leans up and slightly right. The bloom is nearly as wide as the whole sign, balanced on a stem so thin it bends a little under the weight. At the foot, two broad leaves open like cupped hands, the left one flat across its top edge, and both meet the stem along one straight base line.
