About the Celtic Cross design

No knotwork here, just a heavy plain cross with a ring set behind the crossing. The ring leaves four small openings shaped like quarter slices of a pie, one tucked into each corner where the bars meet. The top and side arms poke only a little past the ring, like short square stubs, while the shaft below runs long and straight. That long stem lifts the ring high, so it sits like a wheel mounted on a post.
