About the Sprouting Cross design
Two slender sprigs cling to this cross, one curling out from under the right arm and reappearing above it with a tuft of leaves, the other branching off the shaft below the left arm. Each leaf is a small pointed teardrop, tiny against the thick, plain beams. The upright ends in a soft rounded cap, while the arms stop square. Below, the long shaft sinks into a domed mound of earth resting on a wide, flat plinth.
