About the Broad Heel design
The Broad Heel shoe ends in two blunt, squared tabs that kick outward past the line of the arms, like the turned-up toes of a pair of boots. Three small square nail holes sit low on each side, and they tilt as they follow the curve, so the bottom pair turn almost to diamonds. The upper arms carry no holes at all, and the thick band across the toe stays solid. Inside, the opening is a wide U that spans nearly half the shoe.
