About the Shift Pattern design
Five heavy rings sit at the ends of the strokes, three along the top row and only two below, leaving the bottom right corner empty. The stem under the right-hand ring drops a short way, then swings left on a rounded elbow to meet the long crossbar, the only bend in strokes that otherwise meet at right angles. Each hole is small against the steel around it, more washer than eyelet.
