About the Garnished Slice design
A fanned garnish leans along the sloped top of this slice, two fat rounded lobes at its upper right and slimmer ribbed segments tapering down toward the left. Below it, a heavy black cap of icing ends in a wavy edge that dips into the first of three white bands. Two more wavy black lines divide the sponge, and the left wall stands shorter than the right, so the whole top tilts upward. The slice rests on a shallow dish with a lifted rim.
