About the Notched Cap design
Near the top of each heel, a narrow slot cuts in from the outer edge and slopes slightly downward to a rounded tip, leaving a squared cap of steel above it. Those two notches face away from each other, mirror images across the gap between the heels. Lower down, each branch carries just two short nail slots, the upper one standing upright and the lower one leaning to follow the curve. The broad toe stays solid, with no holes at all.
