About the Layers on a Pedestal design
Three white bands stack inside a thick black outline, split by two heavy bars that stand in for filling between the layers. The top corners curve down softly, and from the center rises an arched loop crowned by a round ball, so the cake wears a handle. Below, the plate rim runs wider than the cake on both sides before narrowing into a short stem that flares out again into a broad foot.
